This window in my studio is a recent favourite in which to paint under. At this time of day the light coming in was indirect, warm overcast light; setting the painting's palette in a range of soft earthy colours. I aimed for a strong sense of verticals, ensuring I included the powerful compositional lines of the window frame and reflection.
