'Hazy Sunlight, Brighton'
 
Accolade: Exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists in 2022 at the Mall Galleries, London.
 
Painted immediately outside Brighton Station, this piece looks South into the low winter sunlight that casts much of the scene in a hazy shadow. I was interested in studying the architectural patterns of the buildings as well as their echo through the shadow across the ground. The low sun at this time of year is up for such a short period of time but washes everything in a wonderful blue haze.
