'Hidden Royal Pavilion, Brighton'
This piece was a great challenge and a lot of fun; the first 30 inch canvas I'd painted en plein air. I painted it alongside the Brighton Painting Group on one of the Saturday morning sessions. The Garden was full of creativity, painters scattered everywhere and a musician serenading us the entire time. I decided on a composition where the tree obscures the view of the pavilion, looking to create a close relationship between the two.
