'Winter Afternoon Light, Brighton'
I walk this route many times in a week and am constantly inspired by this view down Richmond Place towards the trees of Valley Gardens. On sunny days the light illuminates the glossy road surface and the surrounding buildings are cast in a soft blue shadow. For this composition, I was drawn to the strong vertical pattern of lampposts, trees and traffic lights that cut through the organic textures of the canopies behind.
