About me
My career kicked off in architecture where I learned a huge part of what I use in my artwork today. Following a fork from the industry in 2019 I dived straight into painting full-time and still feel like I've barely scratched the (varnished) surface. I felt a calling to Brighton in 2021 to be by the tranquility of the sea and among a vibrant art scene.
I love having a studio in Brighton. It allows me to zip between the buzz of the town centre, calm openness of the beach as well as the natural beauty of the downs. I am constantly in a cyclical state of inspiration between the 3 and am forever looking for stunning qualities of light to bring them alive. Painting outside is challenging as the weather and light change so quickly. These conditions have naturally shaped my painting style into one of immediacy and directness.
