Coming from an architectural background, I sometimes find myself looking at buildings in elevation and feel the urge to paint orthographically. I find this an exciting exercise as it emphasises architectural pattern, in this case the wonderful regularity of windows. The tree wildly juxtaposes this effect, adding an element of contrast and balance to the piece.
